Juan Diego is recording his
second CD in the United States which will be launched at
the end of 2006
Juan Diego visited his "older brother",
Music Director & Conductor, Stephen Ruggere on his farm
in North Brookfield, Massachusetts for ten days this month,
to work on the next phase of development of his next CD.
Working with producers Ian Hatton and Fran Flannery, senior
recording engineer Steve Drown and engineer Ian Neil, Juan
Diego re-recorded all the guitar parts for seven new songs
at the world-reknown Long View Recording Studio.
Juan Diego and Stephen experimented
with new "ingredients" and sounds...and made plans
for two more phases of production. The first will take place
in various locations in Spain during the coming Winter and
Spring, where cante will be recorded, along with palmas
and others.
The second and final phase of recording
will take place next June at Long View, where also recorded
groups such as Aerosmith, Mos Def o Six by Seven. Old friend
Will Calhoun -who has collaborated with Living Colour and
B.B. King among others- will record udu (clay drum) and
percussion parts; along with bassist Doug Wimbish -who has
collaborated with The Rolling Stones and Madonna among others-,
jazz trombonist Lennie Peterson, jazz violinist Matt Maneri,
Boston Symphony Orchestra cellist, Raphael Popperkaiser,
vocalist Katrina Chester and other American musicians to
be selected as the compositions mature.
The album will immediately go into post-production
at a private mixing & mastering facility and be ready
for release by the end of 2006. Acting as Executive Producers,
Stephen Ruggere and Nubar Alexanian will work with Juan
Diego to secure the best possible worldwide distribution
for the album, that will be released three years after debut
album ‘Luminaria’.
